Murphys Point Provincial Park

Murphys Point Provincial Park sits on 1,239-hectares of land, and is home to several historic features that are part of the area’s rich past. The Silver Queen Mica Mine is one of the Seven Wonders of Lanark County, and symbolizes the importance of small-scale mining in this area in the early 1900s,  This restored mica, feldspar and apatite mine operated between 1903 and 1920 and is open on guided tours and specific events during summer and fall.  In addition to the Silver Queen Mica Mine, you’ll find a bunkhouse, two pioneer homestead sites, and the ruins of one of the earliest saw mills on the Rideau. The park’s geology, wetlands, forests, and meadows make a home for a diverse range of flora and fauna, and protect several at-risk species.
