Baxter Conservation Area
Baxter Conservation Area is a stunning example of a river floodplain. Situated on 80 hectares of land, it features mixed hardwood forests, meadows, wetlands, over 5km of trails, and the unique Filmore Park Nut Grove which showcases many species of nut and bean trees and shrubs. Bring a packed lunch to make use of one of many picnicking areas, or relax in the shade at the covered shelter adjacent to one of the most attractive beaches on the Rideau River. Environmental education programs, summer day camps, and seasonal community group camping all available.
